Today’s Quote
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882) was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society, and he disseminated his thoughts through dozens of published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States.

Birds of a feather flock together

About six years ago I took a feather making class. This past week I invited a friend to my shop and we decided to take the feathers to the next level. These lovely feathers are about 2 1/2 feet long and are made of copper and aluminum.
The one on the yellow wall is mine and the one on the blue wall is Brad Isley’s.
These lovely Feathers are only $300 each.

Quest for blue skies & a quote

I am super happy to have sold a few of my horse paintings this week. On more than one occasion on a trip through the desert I have been lucky to come across a band of wild horses. When in Vantage I always take time to visit the 200-foot line of life-size charging horses, the creation of David Govedare, is titled “Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies”. The iron ponies can be seen on the hillside above the Columbia River just off I-90 in eastern WA

Painted Horse & a Quote

A few days ago I painted a horse, took a photo of it and posted the photo online. Seconds later I decided I was not liking the way it turned out so I created a new painting on top of the horse. For some strange reason the painted horse got more likes than any other paintings I have done. I feel a bit sad that I only let it live for a minute.

Tonight I decided to try again so here are three new painted horses.

Clean Slate & A Quote

Over the past few months I have been struggling with the loss of a friendship. Tomorrow starts a new chapter of my life. I start a new job at a place I worked a few years ago. I shall miss the 4 legged customers, co- workers and friends I made over the past year at the Wash Spot. My heart feels a bit foggy today.

It was 93 degrees out today and I was working in my shop. My little shop felt like it was 120 degrees inside with the welder going. Susan Gerend has been asking me to build her a bottle tree. I finally got it finished today.
